London style cup & saucer wth 'Dolphin' handle
A London shaped cup & saucer. Maker unidentified.
Marks to underside '2' and a circle with dot in puce.
The handle is like New Halls so called 'Dolphin' shape.
The pattern is of Lady with lyre, leaning against a large urn with flowers. A man is seated to the other side and a child to the front. They are surrounded by flowers.
Size approx. Cup 2 x 3 3/4" saucer 5 1/2"
Some wear to rims of cup, signs of utensil use to both pieces, firing specks.
Still a good example of a c1815 tea set.
